Built on a ridge overlooking the N’tsiri River, the views at Tuskers are from an elevated vantage point, making them all the more spectacular. The wide, riverbed with a trickling stream winds along the foothill and an open plain opens up between the riverine trees in front of the lodge. A waterhole is ideally located for attracting all sorts of wandering wildlife to the clearing below and often some of the best sightings can be had from the lodge itself!
The thatched lodge is spacious and has six en suite bedrooms, all air-conditioned for added luxury during summer months. There is a living room – also air-conditioned – fitted with comfortable furnishings, large sofas, and big, glass doors that open up onto a neatly maintained lawn. A small swimming pool is fitted into the wooden deck outside which has the best view in the house. A sheltered sitting area is perched on the edge of the deck, making it the perfect spot for some afternoon wildlife-watching and quiet contemplation.
The intimacy of Tuskers Safari Camp keeps things extra special for guests who book with us as a group. Every aspect of the experience is personalised, from meals to safari activities, wake up times, and time spent at the lodge or in the field. The expert guides were born and bred in the bush and know the area like the backs of their hands. Both Troy and Dave are very passionate about nature and seek out the best wildlife encounters using their innate knowledge and many years of practice.
