Shishangeni Private Lodge
Shishangeni Private Lodge caters perfectly for families in thatched, well equipped chalets, some of which are interleading for parents sharing with children. There are 22 rooms in total, all of which have individual viewing decks over the bush, en suite facilities with indoor bath tubs and outdoor showers, spacious lounge areas, air-conditioning, and mini-bars on request. The central lodge all the facilities for comfort and relaxation, including an excellent restaurant, African boma for alfresco dining, a game viewing deck, plunge pool, spacious lounge, gym and spa.
Camp Shawu offers a more exclusive, African safari-inspired accommodation in five spacious rooms that overlook the Mpanamana Dam. Each of the luxuriously decorated suites has wooden floors, thatched ceilings, and specially designed dung walls. Leather furniture and other natural textiles suit the open-plan bedrooms, which have bath tubs looking out onto the dam, drop-down canvas walls to keep open or close up, a fireplace, sitting area, and an outdoor shower with a view. The central area has an African-inspired dinging area (inside and outside), a deck with a swimming pool and sun-loungers, all overlooking the water.
Camp Shonga is an intimate tented camp tucked into the foothills of the Lebombo Mountains. It has five spacious safari tents, all looking onto the natural bush, and equipped to allow guests comfort and privacy in a special natural environment. Indoor bath tubs, outdoor showers, wooden floors and canvas walls and ceilings, these tents are authentic safari boudoirs. A fireplace adds a nice touch on chilly winter days and the mosquito nets envelop each bed for easy sleeping on summer nights. The central area has a dining area under thatch, and one out on an open deck overlooking the bush. A cosy lounge with a fireplace completes the camp’s welcoming atmosphere.
Shishangeni’s activity list is long and caters for safari enthusiasts of all sorts. Game drives in the world renowned Kruger National Park are led by an expert guide and conducted in traditional 4×4 game viewers. Early morning and afternoon drives invite all the possibilities of seeing the Big Five, plus all the favourite characters of the bush, like zebra, warthog, giraffe, kudu, hippo, hyena, cheetah, African wild dog, crocodile, and so many more.
