Teaching sustainable farming & providing nutritious meals for crèche kids

Nourish‘s sustainable farming projects are so important not only for providing daily food security for the 34 children at the preschool plus Nourish volunteers and staff, but it teaches farming skills that will benefit children in the long-run.

“We want to teach children how to farm chickens and propagate their own vegetables so that even if they come from a low income family, they have the knowledge and skills to provide for themselves one day. In addition, having fresh vegetables and eggs contributes to our feeding scheme which ensures volunteers and children at our Nourish preschool eat nourishing meals every day.”

“Our garden is currently growing onions, tomatoes, green peppers, cabbage, beetroot, carrots, and spinach. We harvest daily whatever we can to add to the pot. Our sustainable farming project makes the feeding scheme possible! Thanks to monthly support which enables us to buy chicken food, and vegetable seedlings to keep our projects going.” – Sarah Bergs, Nourish.
